Just a few weeks ago, American rapper A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, was arrested for an alleged assault that happened when he and his bodyguards were harassed in Sweden. Looking at the footage that was posted on his Instagram, one can clearly see that Rocky was not the instigator in the incident.

The Daily Caller explains,

The American music icon was taken into custody in Sweden in early July after defending himself during an altercation that apparently started because two men wouldn’t stop following him. Despite video evidence clearly showing Rocky trying to defuse and de-escalate the situation, the Swedes don’t seem interested in letting him go.

Things would only get worse for him as he was placed in a prison that was described as having "inhumane conditions," according to TMZ, who talked to an official from the U.S. Embassy. Rocky was also denied access to American officials and his own management, a possible violation of his human rights.

The Daily Caller is now reporting that President Trump himself is "very much aware of the situation" and is now actively involved in trying to obtain his release. Apparently Kanye West and Kim Kardashian reached out to Jared Kushner about Rocky's arrest and Kushner brought it to the president's attention.

From the Daily Caller:

According to TMZ on Thursday, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reached out to Jared Kushner to get some help on the situation. Kushner took the news to Trump, who is allegedly “very much aware of the situation” and believes the star rapper is “being held unfairly.” TMZ also reported a State Department rep is expected to get to Sweden on Thursday, but there is a “real fear” the Swedes might not be down to play ball.

With all the abuses Rocky has reportedly faced, the Swedish government may very well owe him and America an apology. It remains to be seen what transpires from here on out.
