Maybe if "leaders" like German Chancellor Angela Merkel paid a little more attention to the safety of her country and continent - and a little less time on how many refugees she can fit through Germany's open borders - she wouldn't have to complain about other countries covering for her shortcomings.

Merkel spoke at a prize ceremony honoring French President Emmanuel Macron in Aachen, Germany on Thursday, and the chancellor took her time at the podium to sound like she might have her country take some personal responsibility. At the same time, Merkel took a shot at the U.S.

"It’s no longer the case that the United States will simply just protect us,” Merkel said to the adoring pro-European Union (EU) crowd, according to Bloomberg. “Rather, Europe needs to take its fate into its own hands. That’s the task for the future."

It's funny how sourpuss Merkel and Macron didn't talk that tough to President Trump's face on both of their visit in which the U.S. rolled out the red carpet for. Instead, we see Obama-esque "lead from behind" tactics from the two Far-Left leaders.
