Green Protesters to Deliver Pipleline to Pro-Energy Dem's Home: 'If She Really Wants It in Her Backyard'

Craig Bannister | November 15, 2014

UPDATE: Apparently, green activists hate rain even more than they hate oil pipelines.

As if Mondays weren’t bad enough, it looks like Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) will have protesters and a huge pipeline in her backyard on Monday.

The environmental group 350.org plans to present the pro-pipeline Democrat with one of their own “as her going away present,” Tweets the group’s U.S. organizer, Sara Shor:

Sen. Landrieu already has enough problems, reportedly trailing by double-digits heading into her Dec. 6 runoff vote. Now, she can’t even drink her morning coffee in peace, because she’s pro-energy independence. I guess it’s true: “No good deed does go unpunished.”

And, just who is this group, 350.org? It’s the brainchild of environmentalist and author Bill McKibben, whose bio claims he was one of the first people to stoke climate fears with his 1989 book “The End of Nature.”

“Bill McKibben is an author and environmentalist. His 1989 book The End of Nature is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change, and has appeared in 24 languages.”

The group has posted a wordless, animated video overview, which it promises “explains 350.org in 90 seconds.”
