Someone call the cops. We need to report a murder.

A man who was in the audience at CNN’s town hall with former President Donald Trump Wednesday night absolutely wrecked the media during a Q&A after the event when he was asked what he thought about Trump’s continual denial of the 2020 election results.

“Does it bother you that he keeps talking about 2020 instead of 2024...how do you feel about those lies?” CNN asked 40-year-old Trump voter Jonathan Leslie.

“I feel like part of it is also the media narrative,” Leslie answered. “You guys asked him the first question at the town hall about the 2020 election, rather than current stuff.”

“So then don’t you could say it’s time for him to start talking about 2024 and not lies that aren’t true?” the network host asked.

“Couldn’t the media ask him a question about 2024?” Leslie fired back.

“Well there were questions, but you’re right, that was the first thing. That was something that was on our mind,” the host responded before quickly dropping the hot potato and moving on.

Leslie’s not wrong. In her very first question straight out of the gate, CNN town hall moderator Kaitlin Collins called Trump out for being "under active investigation for trying to overturn the 2020 election results,” pointedly telling him that “you still have not publicly acknowledged the 2020 election results.”

When Trump began defending his position on the 2020 election, Collins pushed back, “It was not a rigged election.”

So…it’s alright for the 2020 election to still be on CNN’s mind, but not Trump’s? And it’s acceptable for CNN to grill the former president about it, but not acceptable for Trump to respond?

Sounds like yet another double standard, to me. Then again, without those, CNN would have no standards at all.
