Nonsensical word salad, Freudian slip, or legitimately concerning political argument? This is the game the American public is forced to play all too often with Vice President Kamala Harris, who, in an interview posted Sunday, made some rather odd remarks about women.

During an interview with far-left commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, Harris lamented the overturning of Roe v. Wade and urged Congress to codify abortion “rights” nationwide, telling Cohen:

I agree with your general point, which is that we always have to be vigilant knowing that every right that we have gained will not be permanent if we're not vigilant, so I agree with that point, but to put it in law, there may be litigation, but we will be in a much better position than to not do that, and, you know, listen, women are getting pregnant every day in America and this is a real issue, and we need to act with a sense of haste about what is at play, what is at stake, and codifying Roe will be an important moment in terms of putting back in place protections for the folks who are at risk right now, because of what the Court did in Dobbs just weeks ago.

Huh?

In case you got lost along the way, I’d like to draw your attention to Harris’s statement that “women are getting pregnant every day in America, and this is a real issue.”

Harris has not yet clarified whether this was an unfortunate gaffe, or if she does actually subscribe to some sort of anti-natalist ideology. After all, such a position would be in line with her usual pro-abortion stance, which involves fundamentally no limits on the practice.

Harris’s latest comments put her in good company in the Democratic Party. Questions surrounding the morality of having children have long plagued the political left. The “anti-natalism” movement has gained traction in recent years amid a wave of climate hysteria and post-Roe insanity.

Is Harris joining their ranks, or is this yet another example of feminist Democrats warping and attacking the family in order to promote a pro-abortion narrative? We’ll have a hard time getting a straight answer from Kamala Harris either way.
