If you, like many, put stock in the observation that politicians and bureaucrats rarely eliminate their new agencies… If you suspected that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accepting the resignation of Nina Jankowicz from her post as head of the anti-constitutional Disinformation Governance Board was not the end of the "board," and that DHS Director Alejandro Mayokras planned to keep the Ministry of Truth going, in defiance of our rights and the rules of their federal leviathan, it looks like you might be right.

The Ministry of Truth appears to be getting, not shut down, but... a polish.

And, IF you’ve ever been forcibly scanned at an airport, you might have a passing memory of the charmer chosen to do the makeover “review.”

He’s Michael Chertoff, former Homeland Police State Security Theatre Tsar, Patriot Act backer, and beneficiary of bucko-bucks, thanks to the feds sliding radiating scanners into airports shortly after he left the W Bush Administration.

As Diana Glebova reports for The Daily Caller:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hired the co-author of the PATRIOT Act, arguably the harshest crackdown on civil liberties in modern American history, and an official under former President Bill Clinton to head the Disinformation Governance Board during its ‘pause.’

Yep. After making lots of money off taxpayers during the W Bush Admin, Chertoff is back, and ready to absorb some more, in the, shall we say, “Big Brother Makeover?”

The department announced Wednesday former DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff and former U.S. Deputy Secretary General Jamie Gorelick under Clinton ‘will lead a thorough review and assessment’ of the board that was ‘grossly and intentionally mischaracterized.’

Mischaracterized. So, reporting on how there is no provision in the US Constitution for the Disinformation Governance Board, let alone for the DHS to form its own office to use taxpayer money in order to hire people like Nina Jankowicz – that’s “mischaracterization…”

Okay. Easy to remember. Sure…

Just be sure not to notice Mr. Chertoff’s background.

Chertoff reportedly pushed disinformation about Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, claiming Russians were behind the emails found inside, according to the Free Beacon. Chertoff served as the secretary of the DHS from 2005-2009, investigated the 9/11 attacks and co-authored the PATRIOT Act, which gave the government authority to tap phones to surveil for terrorism and conduct searches without a warrant.

Ahh, yes. That pesky Fourth Amendment.

And there’s plenty more in Chertoff’s disastrous anti-rights background.

In 2009 Chertoff left his government-czar position and started the creatively titled “Chertoff Group,” an organization which currently boasts such deep state luminaries as former NSA and CIA don, Michael Hayden (and remember, Hayden is part of the great NewsGuard team created by Microsoft and other Big Tech leftists).

Oh, and by the way, that company that hired Chertoff’s group, just after he left the Bush hive? Was body-scanner security company RapiScan. A company that also has strong ties to George Soros, as does the proposed Second-in-Command at the soon-to-be-Chertoff-headed Ministry of Truth.

Nice puzzle pieces, all cozily fitting together.

For Gateway Pundit Editor Hoft, there definitely is no love lost, and there definitely is reason to be even more concerned than when Jankowicz was picked for this immoral, unconstitutional DHS disaster:

Michael Chertoff was a board member of a website Alliance for Securing Democracy that claimed it was tracking Russian disinformation during the Trump years. Its real purpose is to smear websites supportive of Donald Trump and his accomplishments as Russian propaganda.

In this venture, Chertoff and his colleagues labeled The Gateway Pundit and Breitbart as top Russia disinformation websites because we did not believe the media lies on the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

About Jamie Gorelick, Glebova notes:

Gorelick worked for the Clinton administration and was a member of the 9/11 Commission. She was also reportedly rumored to be failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s top choice for attorney general, and has worked for a wide range of clients, including Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, BP after its oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and Duke University after three lacrosse players were falsely accused of rape.

This is a big deal, involving big narrative-pushers who also have been massive parasites tied to massive political interests in DC, they, and the DHS represent a big assault on our liberty.
