Almost a week after he was found dead in his prison cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, N.Y., New York City's medical examiner has ruled that the death of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was "suicide by hanging," according to Fox News.

The news comes just one day after reports surfaced that Epstein's autopsy revealed he had broken bones in his neck typically congruent with death by strangulation, but can also happen in some hanging cases.

"We are being told they have ruled - the medical examiner - this was a suicide, saying that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself at 6:30 in the morning - that would be last Saturday morning," Fox News' Trace Gallagher reported, "and that it was suicide - that he tied a bedsheet to the bunk in his cell and that he knelt to the floor."
