We’ve officially gone from “15 days to slow the spread,” to “15 months to slow the spread,” to…”eh, it’s not really about the spread.”

And it looks like the forced mask mandates and social distancing edicts, along with forced closures and other government diktats, aren’t likely to stop any time soon, even as the government fumbles to roll out the newly-developed COVID vaccine meant to save us all from certain death.

President-elect Joe Biden, who is set to take office Wednesday and who has already announced he’ll pen executive orders featuring expansions of federal mask mandates, said in a tweet Sunday that masks are “patriotic,” and that “Experts say wearing a mask from now until April will save more than 50,000 lives.”

Where have we heard this before?

Perhaps from Dr. Anthony Fauci, who first claimed that face masks weren't necessary, then switched his tune and advised that everyone wear face coverings, alleging he only said masks weren't effective so they could be distributed among frontline workers without being scooped up by all the unwashed masses who've since been ordered by law in many states and localities to wear them.

Or perhaps from "experts," including Dr. Fauci, who say that even after being vaccinated, we must continue to socially distance and wear face masks in case the vaccine isn't effective, despite also claiming that it is.

If the past is any indication, April will come and go – but mask mandates surely won’t.
