When you’re trying to get a job at any given company, you usually do a little bit of research beforehand: what do they sell? What’s their workplace like? - Things of that sort.

Before the interview process, you want to go in possessing some current knowledge about the people and company you'll potentially be working for.

But Colin Kaepernick doesn’t believe that he needs to do that.

At the Wall Street Journal’s Tech Live Conference this week, Kaepernick held an interview with the Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Beaton (he’s now involved in a tech startup company called Lumi, that’s why he was there). Of course, the topic of his potential return to the NFL came up (let's face it - he’s never going back). But in the process, Kaepernick made a crazy admission about how much he doesn’t keep up with the NFL.

The Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Beaton asked Kaepernick a super simple question: “You typically haven’t watched the NFL much lately?”

You’d think he’d watch as much as possible, keeping up with how the NFL has changed since his last game in 2017. But that’s not even close to what he’s done.

How much has he watched, would you say? I’ll give you a hint: if you watched one game - heck, one quarter - of football this past weekend, you’ve exceeded Kaepernick's football intake.

“I haven’t watched a game in 8 years,” Kaepernick replied.

Timeout, what did he just say? Does he know anything about the league?

“Oh, I still check everybody’s stats,” he said. “It also informs who my agent reaches out to, but I still check the stats. I see what’s going on. I don’t ever turn a game on though, because I’m not gonna support in that way, but I need to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening with quarterbacks out there.”

Bro, how in the world can that be your attitude in trying to get back in the league’s good graces? That would be like me saying, “I want a job at Fox News, but I don’t know who Sean Hannity is or watch any Fox shows.” How can you so arrogantly spurn the product of the company you want to work for?

Let’s just say he gets an interview with a franchise (by some miracle). How is he going to talk about the offensive and defensive schemes that teams run today and have any understanding of how the NFL has changed since he last played? Short answer: he won’t.

And yet, this guy still thinks he could win a Super Bowl

Kaepernick needs help.
