ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit made a bold statement on X on Tuesday, August 6, that really shouldn’t have been considered bold.
The “College GameDay” co-host and college football reporter saw a post from a fan that asked him if men should be allowed to play in women’s sports. Without hesitation or apology, Herbstreit stated that they should not, and mocked the idea that this is even a debate.
Of course not. Ridiculous question https://t.co/SpwZ07zewv

He should be applauded for this of course. In this day and age, it takes courage to make a statement like that, and even more to refuse to be intimidated into taking it back.
Thankfully, it appears Herbstreit has no intentions of caving anytime soon. On an episode of “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich,” he called out the hypocrisy of cancel culture and said that he is done carnage about what people think about his worldview.
"I’m done giving any s---s at all about any of it. It’s almost like there are two different sets of rules, and if you have a view that’s a little more traditional, or I’m a Christian guy, it’s like there is a different set of rules for that viewpoint," he said. "It’s hard to just turn the other cheek time after time after time.”
He’s absolutely right. The left will overtly tell you that if you express a Christian and/or conservative worldview on any topic, you deserve to be canceled. Thankfully, Herbstreit doesn’t seem to be afraid of that.

He continued: “So, yeah, I didn’t really care, and I don’t care at all. Which is a good thing, I think it’s good and healthy to get to that place compared to, ‘Oh, gosh, I don’t want to get canceled. I don’t want to get people upset.’ I don’t give a s---. I’m just going to say certain things.”
He added that he tries to avoid talking about “race, religion, and politics,” but that after seeing all that has transpired in our country in recent memory, he felt a need to speak out.
“I try to stay on the sidelines for a lot of that, but you can only take so much until you want to start to speak up a little bit and actually say what you think. When I retire or get in the position that you’re in, I’ll be able to say a lot more,” Herbstreit said.
If he’s this unafraid to share the truth one of the more controversial topics of our day and risk his reputation at the biggest sports media company in the world, I can only imagine how incredible it would be to hear him have his own show after he’s retired from ESPN.
