What are your thoughts on the Constitution? You know, the document that’s the foundation for this phenomenal nation and one of - if not the - most influential political writings in the history of the West?
I personally think it’s great, to say the very least. It guarantees our right to free speech, own guns, the right to a free trial, and many other things. While our government has certainly done a lot to infringe on - or at least severely restrict - those freedoms, the Constitution itself is an incredible doucement that deserves our respect.
However, the New York Times holds the opposite view of Constitution.
Earlier this week, they published an article titled “The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous? One of the biggest threats to America’s politics might be the country’s founding document.” It’s a total load of horse crap that (poorly) tries to blame the demise of the document on Trump (shocker), and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Evidently, Joe Rogan saw this article and ripped the NYT a new one on his podcast for making this ludicrous idea.

"This is an actual New York Times article…This is so crazy. It's really hard to believe someone would print this and The New York Times would say, 'Yeah, we like it. Put it out there'…What the f–k are you talking about? One of the biggest threats to America’s politics might be one of the greatest documents that any country was ever founded on — if not the greatest ever? That could be a threat to America’s politics? What politics are we talking about? Like, how could you possibly gaslight me enough to go along with you on this," he said in a conversation with author Bret Weinstein.
Frankly, I completely agree with Rogan’s rant. The problem with our government is not the Constitution itself, it is politicians (from both parties) that do their best to infringe on the Constitution that is the problem. While most of our leaders already trample on the rights given to us in the document, if the Constitution didn’t exist, we’d be in a lot more trouble than we already are.
The Constitution needs to stay, and it is not the problem with our government. Rogan was right to call out the NYT for suggesting otherwise.
