The Los Angeles Dodgers and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had a run-in at Dodger Stadium on Thursday - but not really.

Early in the day, the Dodgers announced that ICE agents had requested access to Gate E of the stadium to conduct raids on illegal immigrants. The Dodgers were set to play the San Diego Padres later that evening. The team then issued a statement on X saying that it blocked ICE from entering.

Because Los Angeles is all in on protecting illegals, this sequence of events sparked protests at the alleged location of the ICE officers.

Seems pretty straightforward, right? Well, not exactly.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said the agents who arrived at the stadium were with the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), which attempted to access the stadium. The agents on site said they had detainees to process.

That prompted the DHS to release a statement stating that their brief presence at the stadium had nothing to do with the baseball team.

"This has nothing to do with the Dodgers," DHS posted to X. "CBP vehicles were in the parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement."

As for the ICE agents? The organization had a very simple answer to provide concerning the Dodgers' claims.

So let's recap. Yet another Los Angeles sports team is siding with illegal immigrants in our country. Because of that, the organization is willing to go so far as to spread a false accusation about ICE showing up at the stadium to conduct a raid, which prompted hundreds of people to start a mini-protest.

However, it turns out that ICE was never there, meaning that their false accusation is even more damaging because they convinced people to show support for illegal immigrants without knowing the facts of the matter.

This is why you don’t rush to conclusions.
