Do you ever wake up and think to yourself, “Man, I just really need some more Jemele Hill sports content?” No? Don’t worry, you’re in good company.
In a world full of race-baiting sports reporters, Hill stands out as one of the worst. Whether it’s claiming Americans are racist for liking Caitlin Clark, claiming only black football players get punished for wrongdoing, to blaming systemic racism as the reason for why Colin Kaepernick doesn’t have a job in the NFL, she never stops inserting race into sports narratives.
And now, she’s going to have even more power to do that.
Hill will be leading a weekly new sports news magazine called “Above The Fold” that will air on TNT starting Thursday at 7 p.m. The focus of the show is to “delve into important stories and topics centered on the connection between sports and culture.”

“As somebody who has now been in this business for almost three decades as a professional, it’s certainly hard not to notice that a lot of the shows, such as Outside The Lines, and E60, those hard hitting, deep dive, long-form type shows almost went extinct,” Hill said. “What I love about being a part of this project is feeling that sense of a weekly commitment to that kind of storytelling, that kind of journalism, and covering things happening inside the lines and also on the margins that are related to sports and and culture.”
Look, I’m not saying that every story she writes about is going to have some racist bent to it. It’s hard to find that much faux racism in the sports news cycle, even for a woman of Hill’s talents. But I feel highly confident that given her past body of work in sports “coverage,” it's going to be full of woke content.
I guess we’ll find out every Thursday night.
