Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, but Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn’t care all that much.
After yesterday’s game against the Boston Celtics, Kerr spoke with the media about what he was doing before tip-off. The game was scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EST and the inauguration was at noon, so in theory he had a chance to watch it.
But do you think he did? If you guessed no, well done. Kerr is a flaming liberal, so he stayed as far away from that as possible.

“I didn’t watch the inauguration, I chose to watch Celtics tape,” he said, as the crowd chuckled.

Look, it’s not super surprising that he was using the final hours before a game to prep for an opponent; it’s his job after all. But you have to think a guy as woke as him would have put forth some level of effort to watch Kamala Harris get inaugurated had she won (I just puked in my mouth considering that possibility). He’s a never-Trumper so that almost certainly played a role in his decision as well.
Despite his effort to get some last-minute preparation in, his team got obliterated on their home court by a score of 125-85, which was the worst home loss Golden State has experienced since Kerr started coaching them in the 2014-15 season.
Kerr might have been better off just watching the inauguration since his preparation clearly didn’t help his team in the slightest.
