Donald Trump promised he would protect women’s sports from men, and so far he is delivering on that promise.

The University of Pennsylvania was thrust into the national spotlight when the school allowed Lia Thomas to compete on the women’s swimming team, though he is a man. Since Thomas’ departure from the school, UPenn has made no effort to change its school policies on allowing men to compete in women’s sports.

As such, Trump is taking action.

The president signed an executive order in February that said that any university that receives federal funding would lose those funds if it allowed men to compete in women’s sports. He backed up his promise by withholding $175 million in government funds from UPenn.

Boom.

Apparently, the penalties could be stiffer. The $175 million is just discretionary funding from the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If UPenn doesn’t get its act together, more penalties could come down the pike.

Neither UPenn nor the DOD responded to a request for comment from Fox News.

Trump's move can only end in a positive. If UPenn changes its athletic policies, then women will get a fair playing field on their sports teams (which they should get anyway, but I digress). If the school remains stubborn, the government will save hundreds of millions of dollars by not having to fund athletic cross-dressing at this university.

Trump is proving that he will work to bring common sense back to America.
