Deporting illegal aliens with criminal records apparently makes too much “common sense” for most Democrats. One surprising exception is U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who was brave enough to state that in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.
While Fetterman told Fox he doesn’t “know why anybody thinks that it’s controversial” to back the Laken Riley Act, a bill that would require federal immigration officials to detain illegal aliens for theft-related crimes, 159 House Democrats attempted to vote it down.

Despite their efforts to kibosh the bill, it passed in the House with the support of 264 members, including 48 Democrats. Its fate will now be determined by the Senate.
Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student who inspired the bill was bludgeoned to death “by an illegal alien that President Biden and the Democrats let into this country with their open border policy,” House Speaker Mike Johnson reminded everybody in a statement shared by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“It is hard to believe after countless horrific stories like Laken’s, ANY House Democrats would vote against deporting illegal aliens who commit violent crimes against American citizens,” the speaker continued.
“Who wants to defend that to allow them to remain in our nation?” wondered Fetterman, similarly.
Apparently progressives like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) do. On the House floor, he basically admitted he’s willing to sacrifice more young girls to the barbarians waltzing through our borders in an attempt not to “demonize immigrants.”
“I have a lot of enormous respect for my colleague in the House, but I just happen to disagree on this,” Fetterman told Fox, “remind[ing] everybody that we have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of migrants here illegally that have [been] convicted of crimes.”
Let alone the fact they’re not supposed to be in our nation in the first place.
