While public schools and corporations have no qualms making their own politics the rule, and feel entitled to your compelled agreement, you apparently have no right to exercise your own free speech.

A man from Scott County, Iowa has just reached a settlement with his former employer after he was allegedly fired for wearing Christian-themed T-shirts at work to protest his company’s celebration of Pride Month, reports the Des Moines Register.

Eaton Corp., a global power management company, celebrated the alphabet holiday in June 2023 with a rainbow flag raising ceremony in front of its main building. The company instructed all employees to wear specific colors so they could properly bow to the cause.

Management even reportedly sent emails, offering pride-themed T-shirts for staffers to buy.

But Cosby “Corey” Cunningham, a practicing Christian, refused to sacrifice his religious values just to be an ideological sheep in the corporate machine.

As his coworkers arrived at work in rainbow colors, Cunningham donned T-shirts displaying Bible verses instead.

One shirt read, “Pride goes before destruction, an arrogant spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18,” according to the Register.

Another shirt reportedly read, “Taking back the rainbow. Genesis 9:13.” A third read, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6.”

You can guess how that went over with his employers.

They subsequently subjected Cunningham to a series of interrogation and re-education sessions over the following eight weeks. He was accosted for wearing “inflammatory” rhetoric that “might violate company policy.”

Despite being threatened with his job and sent home from work at least twice, the devoted Christian refused to stop wearing his shirts. He was eventually fired.

But Cunningham refused to back down. With the Pacific Justice Institute on his team, he responded with a lawsuit against Eaton for religious discrimination.

Despite vehemently denying any wrongdoing, the woke company was finally forced to take some accountability for what they insisted was a “legitimate and non-retaliatory” firing.
