If you attended school in the early 2000s, you’ve probably heard the caveat regurgitated by teachers and professors that you should never cite Wikipedia as a reliable source.

That piece of advice remains true now more than ever.

Wikipedia, an online “encyclopedia” that allows any Jo Shmo with a computer to publish definitions has unironically concocted the term: “Libertarian authoritarianism.” It’s an oxymoron akin to the phrase, “Democratic socialism” espoused by the same type of Leftists in an attempt to shield their obsession for government control as some utopia “for the people.”

Libertarianism is the belief that places personal liberties over the tyranny of big government as a primary value. Authoritarianism, described by Britannica as the “repression’ of those liberties is the exact opposite.

However, Wikipedia’s underwear army of intellectuals cited self-described socialist magazines to define “Libertarian authoritarianism” as “those who believe in the abolition of the democratic state, on the basis of its restrictions on individual freedoms.”

In other words, a “democracy,” according to Leftists, means its opposite: The state decides what you’re allowed to say and think, and how much you’re allowed to make and own. Reeling in state power and axing unnecessary government interventions apparently makes you a fascist!

You can assume that’s why the page listed Elon Musk as a top example of a “Libertarian authoritarian” as he runs President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency to eliminate government waste.
