Contrary to popular belief -- and Kid Rock’s newest merchandise -- it appears Kid Rock is not, in fact, actually running for the U.S. Senate.
The Detroit Free Press states that while speaking on Howard Stern’s radio show Tuesday morning, Kid Rock said in no uncertain terms that he is not running for office.
“"F*** no, I’m not running for Senate. Are you kidding me?" Kid Rock said. "Who couldn’t figure that out? I’m releasing a new album. I’m going on tour, too. Are you f***ing s****ing me?”
Kid Rock said that people in his inner circle were “in on the joke,” but added even they eventually started believing the senate run was real. He would reportedly need to remind his acquaintances that he was not actually running for office, saying he told people, "No, we’re not doing it, but let’s roll with it for a while."
“It’s the worst advice I ever gave myself, but it's been the most creative thing I’ve ever done,” he explained. “And I’ve gotten to see everyone’s true colors.”
While Kid Rock may not be running for U.S. Senate, he apparently was polling ahead of other potential Republican candidates in the field.
