New York City – you asked for this.

Singer and actress Lady Gaga’s father is pushing back against the takeover of New York City by illegal immigrants, saying they have “basically taken over” his affluent neighborhood.

Joe Germanotta has lived and raised his daughters, including Lady Gaga, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for 35 years. The Stratford Arms Hotel near his home transformed into a shelter for illegal immigrants six weeks ago after being home to the American Music and Dance Academy, according to the New York Post

“If it was like this when my girls were growing up, I wouldn’t be living in New York,” Germanotta told The New York Post. “There’s now 500 migrants living in that dormitory. That’s when all the mayhem began.”

Germanotta is rounding up a list of residents’ concerns to bring to authorities and policymakers in order to seek control over the situation. He and other neighbors have created the West 70th Street Association to lobby City Hall for “policing” and “supervision” of the migrants.

He called it a “stealth” and “rapid” process, saying organizers transported the migrants in the middle of the night.

“They didn’t want anybody to know what was going on,” he said. “It was all pretty rapid.”

“The dormitory students at the school, the American Music and Dance Academy, were given two weeks’ notice that they had to get out, and none of the residents in the neighborhood were given any notice about the migrant shelter,” Germanotta noted.

Following the flood of migrants was a decline in the quality of life due to “impromptu block parties outside the hotel that last into the early morning, prostitution, kids getting catcalled and reckless e-bikes and motor-scooter drivers wreaking havoc on one-way streets,” The New York Post reported.

“Hookers are coming and going. In the mornings, you see prostitutes coming out of the building,” Germanotta said. “The worst part’s at night. The noise. It starts at about 10 o’clock, and it’ll go until four in the morning. Playing music and racing their motocross and motorbikes up and down the streets.”

He added that girls as young as 14 years old are getting catcalled while residents are receiving verbal abuse.

Germanotta says he doesn’t mind the migrants, but wants them to be managed.

“Put the proper security in place, have a police presence and a code of conduct,” he said. “They’re guests in our neighborhood, and they have basically taken over.”

“Most of the people in (my) building are owners. They feel that this situation has affected their property values,” he added. “Give us something back. Give us a tax rebate. They’re spending all this money, OK, give me some.”

Lady Gaga’s father said he doesn’t mind them there, but he clearly does. This situation results from encouraging “sanctuary cities” and open borders. Have you not learned your lesson yet?
