The Florida state legislature has passed a bill threatening to kidnap "trans" kids from their parents. Well, that’s what the left is saying anyway.

In reality, the Florida senate passed a bill on Thursday that would allow the state to remove children who are being abused in their homes. While the act is to protect kids from parents who encourage and sign off on their underage children getting mutilating surgeries or therapies in the name of gender "identity," the left is coining it a “kidnapping bill.”

Since the left is only going to present its side of what the bill does, here are the actual details.

Broadly, the bill prohibits minors from receiving “gender-affirming care.” That’s in quotes because when a child is chemically or surgically castrated, their body endures unnecessary and sometimes permanent damages, and that isn’t and shouldn’t ever be referred to as care. Now, the so-called “kidnapping” aspect comes in as the bill would allow a court to temporarily remove a child from his or her home if it's found that they've been provided with these damaging procedures.

The bill passed both chambers of the Florida legislature on Thursday and will be sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis to sign next.

Here’s what section one of the bill states:

A court of this state has jurisdiction to ender, modify, or stay a child custody determination relating to a child who is present in this state to the extent necessary to protect the child from being subjected to gender clinical interventions.

The bill also affirmed that a child's biological sex on his or her birth certificate cannot be modified to affirm a “perception” that a child’s gender is inconsistent with their actual, biological sex.

The bill was set to keep kids safe from parents who allow their children to live a dangerous delusion. But, as mentioned, the left has touted it as the “kidnapping bill.”

The Pensacola News Journal called it an “abduction” bill and quoted Kara Gross of the American Civil Liberties Union, who said, “It is an extreme example of government overreach into private medical decisions that will inflict harm on individuals experiencing gender dysphoria and prevent them from accessing the health care they need.”

On Twitter one user said, “What the hell is wrong with these people??” Another stated, “Florida to legalize the kidnapping and trafficking of trans children. This is what the opening salvo of a genocide looks like.”

Realistically, the bill makes it so that if Timmy’s mommy wants to make Timmy into a Tammy then Timmy’s father can say “heck no” and get Timmy out of the care of his abusive mommy.

This bill comes on the heels of other bills that were recently passed in the state. On Wednesday, Florida Republicans passed a bathroom bill that would prohibit biological men - or as they like to call themselves, “transwomen” - from entering a women's bathroom. Uh…duh! Women don’t stand up to pee and men are creeps! Get them out of our bathroom!

Jokes aside, that particular bill is a way to help keep perverts who try and pass under the guise of “transgender people” out of spaces where normal people are supposed to feel safe.

While we can’t know for sure if DeSantis will sign this latest bill or not, at least we can count on the left to spin it however it best fits their narrative.
