Liev Schreiber Brings 8-Year-Old Son To Comic-Con Dressed as Harley Quinn

Actor and director Liev Schreiber brought his son, 8-year-old Samuel Kai, to Comic-Con dressed up as Harley Quinn from “Suicide Squad.” Schreiber’s move to let his son dress up as a female character, complete with ripped tights, is being praised for its progressivism.

According to Page Six, Schreiber took both of his sons to Comic-Con. While his 9-year-old son Alexander “Sasha” Pete dressed up as a Jedi from “Star Wars,” Kai opted to go as Margot Robbie’s version of Harley Quinn:

Schreiber allowed his son, a mere 8-year-old boy, to go out to a largely publicized event dressed up as a female character, knowing it would receive fanfare.

Even though Samuel is only 8-years-old, the move has won praise from the likes of Huff Post Queer, Huffington Post’s queer-geared community, and various gay users on Twitter.

“Common Gay Boy” called Shreiber an “awesome dad”:

Media personality Dillon St. Paul asked, “Wouldn't it be wonderful if all parents were more @LievSchreiber”

Retired NBC executive Mike Sington called Schreiber a “superhero”:

Eric Rosswood, who has the URL “LGBT_Activist,” called the move “awesome”:

Twitter even had an entire “moment” dedicated to how the costume was “a hit.”

While Schreiber took both of his sons to Comic-Con, it appears only the one crossdressing has made the news. As Yahoo wrote in their headline taken from HelloGiggles, “Liev Schreiber’s son dressed as Harley Quinn at Comic-Con, and literally slayed the look.”

Yahoo notes this is not the first time Schreiber’s son has dressed up as a girl in public. For Halloween, Samuel reportedly dressed up as a bloody bride.
