This university in the UK is not okay.

At a University of Westminster launch event for a report titled “Non-Binary in Higher Education,” speakers advised attendees to avoid using “gendered language” so as not to offend students who identify as “non-binary.”

Staff were advised not say "ladies and gentlemen" because it could be offensive.

The report, authored by “three non-binary/genderqueer academics [who recognize] privileged positions as white, non-disabled, securely employed academics and are committed to the dismantling of the racist, classist and ableist structures of academia."

According to the Telegraph UK, the launch event was part of the wider "Non-Binary Genders in Higher Education: Lived Experiences, Imagined Futures project."

A future without ladies or gentlemen? A future not worth imagining.
