Most bosses would laugh at the excuse of, “I was late because protesters were blocking all of the roads." But today in Washington D.C., it would be very much valid.

At 7:00 AM on Thursday morning, pro-Hamas protesters decided that the best move for their cause would be to block off six major highways in D.C.

“These protesters are disrupting the morning commute for thousands in the belly of the beast, stopping U.S. government war criminals from getting to work,” the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR), one of the organizers of the event, posted on X.

Even if it were fair to accuse anybody who is in favor of Israel - or anybody who works for the government, for that matter - of being a war criminal, did the protesters not realize that they were also stopping ordinary people, some of whom may even be on their side, from going to work?

Furthermore, what exactly did they think that they could accomplish by blocking traffic? Did they think that they could convince people of their position by sitting in the street?

The party was over quite quickly, however, at approximately 8:52 AM, not even two hours after the beginning of the protest. "Justice journalist” Chuck Modi posted on X that police were preparing to make arrests.
