Early Thursday morning, the Senate passed President Trump’s rescission proposal to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and cut foreign-aid funding.
The final vote for passage was 51-48.
"Everybody, every conservative, every Republican I talked to on the Hill, House and Senate, they all agreed getting rid of NPR and PBS forced taxpayer subsidies. That was what was so critical and important," MRC's Dan Schneider told WMAL's 'O'Connor & Company.'
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) were the only two Republicans to vote against the measure.
