During the most recent episode of host Bill Kassel's "Free Expression" podcast, MRCTV Assistant Managing Editor Nick Kangadis sat down to talk about the recent rash of TV/streaming shows that have featured anti-Catholic themes. From Hulu to HBO to Apple TV+, today's programming isn't shy to take a swing at religion, specifically Catholicism.

After giving Kassel and his audience an example of the anti-Catholic themes from one particular show, Kangadis, while realizing that the intention of some scenes are for comedy's sake, also understands when certain things just don't land.

“It’s actually really disturbing,” Kangadis said. “I am not Catholic, myself. I’m Greek Orthodox Christian, but we have similar traits to our churches. And when I saw that, I couldn’t believe it. I understand it was for comedy, but some things just aren’t funny.”
