The NAACP is working overtime to shred its civil rights reputation by trying to get pro-athletes to protest unborn children’s rights to life.

ABCNews.com reported on October 28, that the NAACP (or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) sent letters to members of the “NBA, WNBA, NFL, NHL and MLB,” telling them not to sign on to any Texas professional sports teams because of the state’s recent conservative legislation.

The letters specifically mentioned Texas’ new abortion laws, such as the Hearbeat law that was passed last September, making it illegal for unborn babies to be aborted six weeks after conception. It also mentioned Texas’ new voting regulations to make elections less susceptible to cheating, and then mentioned the state’s unwillingness to institute draconian COVID protocols.

The 100-plus year old civil rights group described Texas as “a blueprint by legislators to violate constitutional rights for all, especially for women, children and marginalized communities.”

Yes, of course. Though demanding that athletes protest for sake of making more abortions happen seems to go against that statement, doesn’t it?

The letter, written by NAACP National President Derrick Johnson and NAACP Texas State Conference President Gary Bledsoe enumerated the “archaic policies” that need to be boycotted. For them these include laws that “directly violate privacy rights and a woman's freedom to choose, restrict access to free and fair elections for Black and Brown voters, and increase the risk of contracting coronavirus.”

Mmmhmm. Yes protecting unborn children violates women’s rights, requiring voter ID and eliminating the possibility of cheating in elections is the “new Jim Crow” and not removing adult Americans’ freedom of choice to get vaccinated or wear a mask is extremely dangerous.

Oh the drama.

The letter urged athletes and professional free agents looking for new sports teams to “seek employment with sports teams located in states that will protect, honor and serve your families with integrity."

So only blue states then.

The letter added, “Until the legislation is overturned, Texas isn't safe for anyone." Though actually Texas seems to be one of the few safe places where all Americans’ God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are guaranteed.

Though this kind of radical activism is not surprising. Professional sports leagues have shown they’re willing to alter their business model in order to punish conservative policies. When Georgia decided to make stricter voting laws earlier this year, the MLB moved its annual All-Star Game out of Atlanta in protest.

Perhaps, Texas teams will lose out on some good players because of this woke BS. But who needs good teams when you have safe, innocent unborn babies?
