Former vice president and current presidential hopeful Joe Biden seemed to be in such a hurry to say his piece during a Sunday interview on ABC News that his tongue couldn’t quite keep up.

Speaking to concerns over how the coronavirus might affect election procedures, Biden emphatically stated that “We cannot let this - we’ve allowed any crisis, from the Civil War straight through the pandemic of '17 - all the way 'round '16 - we have never, never let our democracy sakes second fiddle.”

Continuing, the former vice president stressed the importance of not letting the pandemic crisis affect American democracy, declaring, “We can have both a democracy and elections, and correct public health.”

While Biden’s message is a commendable sentiment, he may want to stick to written statements for a bit.
