Pride Nights seem to be a recent theme in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division.

Following the trend continued by division foe Pittsburgh Penguins, the New Jersey Devils hosted a pride night on Wednesday before taking on the Boston Bruins in Newark, NJ.

To commemorate the evening, every Devils player wore during their warmups a pride-themed jersey designed by local artist Danny Martinez.

“Working on this project has really let me tap into a creative side that is very personal and meaningful to me," Martinez said. "All while having fun!"

If you consider helping promote perhaps the most toxic agenda that pervades our culture to be "fun" and "meaningful," more power to you. Just don’t expect everyone to find it worth celebrating.

Unfortunately for Devils fans, there was nothing to take pride in when it came to their team’s performance. Despite a third-period goal from forward Nico Hischier that tied the game at one apiece, the league-leading Bruins left with a 3-1 win that handed the hosts their sixth consecutive loss on home ice, and back-to-back defeats at the hands of Boston.
