Imagine being so “punk” that you constantly rail against people who oppose the establishment status quo. That’s a level of math I still can’t quite figure out. But, it seems nowadays that the most “anti-establishment” bands of the 1990s are now raging FOR the machine. (See what I did there?)
“Punk” group Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong continued his long history of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) during a Monday concert in Washington D.C. at Nationals Park.
Armstrong held up a Trump mask with the word “idiot” on the forehead as if it was a severed head. Reportedly, the mask was given to Armstrong during Green Day’s performance of “Jesus of Suburbia” and Armstrong played along to the delight of fans.
In 2022, Armstrong supposedly told an English audience that he was renouncing his American citizenship after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, including allegedly telling the crowd “f**k the Supreme Court of America.”
Armstrong’s been singing for years about not wanting to be an “American Idiot,” but that doesn’t seem to have been avoided.
