In probably the most hilarious piece of “news” you’ll read all day, check this out.

Organizers for the city of Chicago’s annual Cinco de Mayo parade have canceled the event over fears that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under President Donald Trump’s administration will round up Mexicans.

Someone should tell them that’s not how immigration enforcement works. Border czar Tom Homan’s not going around gathering up random swaths of foreigners just because. It’s targeted, and they generally know who they’re going after.

According to Fox 32 - Chicago (WFLD):

In a joint statement, the Cermak Road Chamber of Commerce and Casa Puebla announced the difficult decision to cancel the traditional Cinco de Mayo parade and festivities.

The organizations cited deep concerns about community safety in light of increased immigration enforcement under the Trump administration.

"Our community is very frightened because of the raids and the threat that ICE has imposed on the families that work tirelessly to provide a better future for their kids," the statement read.

This is so stupid. So are these “organizers” admitting that the majority of the people within the community that they’ve geared these celebrations towards are in the country illegally?

Also, a person’s citizenship isn’t contingent on how hard they work or whether they have a family; it’s whether they’re in the country legally or not.

You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

And for those thinking the image I used as the thumbnail for this story is racist, it was literally part of the local ABC report on the story. Just look:
