There are so many swamp creatures from every ideological standpoint that just don’t seem to grasp that, eventually, someone will call them out for their virtue-signaling propaganda and ask them to put their money where their mouths are.

And the FACT is, you rarely, if ever see these people do just that.

During a Wednesday hearing in front of the House Oversight Committee titled, “America Last: How Foreign Aid Undermined U.S. Interests Around the World,” Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) had his turn to question invited witnesses and asked one of them particularly specific questions about USAID money that went to DEI and LGBTQ programs in foreign countries.

The particularly smarmy witness for the Democrats, Director of Sustainable Development and Resilience Initiative at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) Noam Unger, kept confirming that pointless uses of American taxpayer funds in foreign countries for everything from DEI musicals to LGBTQ awareness in the Caribbean were “reflections of American ideas in action.”

“How about $1.5 million to promote job opportunities for LGBTQ individuals in Serbia?” Gill asked Unger. “Is that a reflection of American values?”

“Providing job opportunities for allies around the world is absolutely in the interest of the American people?” Unger responded in certitude.

Oh, really? Did the American taxpayers get to vote on spending their money in those ways? Or did lobbyists and NGOs buy off some politicians to get these worthless projects funded?

Gill wasn’t having any of that snide answer, so he proposed an opportunity of his own to Unger.

“Well, I would like to maybe challenge you, if you really believe in promoting DEI,” Gill said. “In giving jobs to somebody based on their minority status or the color of their skin or their sexual proclivities, you might want to consider stepping down from your job and giving it to somebody who has more minority points than you do.”

“If that were what DEI is about, maybe I would. But, it’s not what it’s about,” Unger replied as Gill’s time expired.

Then what’s it about, Noamy? As the left practices it, diversity is promoting non-white people to positions just to say that a specific group is diverse. Equity is giving people equal outcomes regardless of any criteria. And, inclusion is including people based on their characteristics or ideologies without regard for any level of merit or experience required for the specific job.

I’d love to hear Unger’s definition of DEI, but he’s probably too busy sweating over whether or not he’s going to have the funding for the “non-profit” NGO he works for.
