On Thursday, President Donald Trump addressed the World Economic Forum (WEF), which included global leaders of countries who have unabashedly taken advantage of the United States’ generosity for years. It was a very straightforward speech where Trump conveyed that his new administration would be focusing on putting America first.

Conservative talk show host and comedian Steven Crowder covered the speech live during that day’s “Louder with Crowder” episode and made a very good point that should give people who actually love the U.S. a positive outlook on the immediate future of the nation.

“You know what [Trump’s] saying to world leaders right now? It’s very clear when he’s talking about the Senate, he’s talking about the House, he’s talking about the presidency, he’s talking about the mandate that he has,” Crowder said. “He’s saying to the rest of the world, ‘Sit down, shut up. Why don’t you let America decide what’s right for America?’”

Crowder spoke about the previous administration of former President Joe Biden’s modus operandi of appeasement to foreign nations and leaders and how that time is now over with Trump.

“He’s saying, ‘Shut up. Americans are gonna buy the cars they want. You have no say in it,’” Crowder continued. “‘Shut up. America’s going to use its resources. We have more than anybody. We’re going to use it. Doesn’t matter what you say. We don’t care. Shut up. Americans want to have a border that’s protected, okay? Your opinion doesn’t matter. You all, sit down, shut up. I’ll take questions, but it doesn’t matter, because I don’t care what you have to say.’

That’s where we are now,” Crowder added. “Do you sense that? That didn’t happen with [Trump’s] first administration. He was feeling his way out. Hey, remains to be seen. I guarantee you he won’t be perfect. We have not seen a president do this in our lifetime. Anyone!”

And co-host and CEO Gerald A. Morgan followed up with a very astute analogy.

“[Trump] just said something. ‘Companies who manufacture abroad will face stiff tariffs,” Morgan said. “He’s basically just looking at the room and spanking their dog in front of them.”

And who deserves that more than the good people who populate and support the WEF?
