When the government doesn’t do enough for the people it sends around the world in the name of this country — and that’s an all too often occurrence if you look at the amount of homeless veterans there are — not all, but a lot of people take it upon themselves to show their appreciation in any way they can. And, a portion of those people are Americans originally from other countries that have a deeper sense of pride in the nation than some Americans that were born here and don’t know how good they have it.
One of those people is independent rapper Tom MacDonald. He’s originally from Canada, but has no problem showing his American patriotism since moving to the States.
MacDonald just announced that through merchandise sales on his website, fans helped him raise over $136,000 “to help house & support the veterans who fought for freedom on our behalf.
Unbelievable 🤯 $136,000 to @usvetsnational to help house & support the veterans who fought for freedom on our behalf.

This brings our 3 year total to almost $350,000…and I don’t think there’s anyone on earth who deserves it more.

The proceeds come as part of his 3rd Annual Hang Over Gang (the name for his fans, #HOGArmy) Memorial Day Sale.
“Every year on Memorial Day, we do a giant charity sale and raise money for U.S. veterans,” MacDonald said in a YouTube video posted before Memorial Day this year.

MacDonald went on to sing the praises of his loyal fanbase and the amounts of money he raised through their purchases and his hopes for this year’s drive, which obviously have since ended.
“In 2022, we raised $71,000 [$71,799, exact figure]], and last year we raised $137,000 [$137,239],” MacDonald said, while showing pictures of the figures. “So in total, that’s like $210,000, and every single penny has gone to veterans and their families.”
The exact total raised this year from sales, as seen in the X post above, came out to $136,152.
While some classify MacDonald as purely a “political rapper,” even if he is, at least he puts the money he raises where his mouth is.
