NY Judge Denies Man Second Amendment Rights Argument: 'It Doesn't Exist Here...This is New York'

New York is a failed state. If you’re a communist, it’s great. The government decides how you can live your life and that your life has no value since you’re not even allowed to argue in court that the right you have to protect yourself doesn’t exist.

‘Do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn’t exist here. So you can’t argue Second Amendment. This is New York.’

Those were reportedly the words of Acting Justice of the New York Supreme Court Abena Darkeh. Whatever rights you are afforded by the Constitution don’t mean a damn thing in her courtroom, despite her only job being to interpret and uphold that same document.

According to RedState:

A Brooklyn man has been convicted of 13 weapons charges after having been arrested and charged in 2022 for building his own firearms. Dexter Taylor’s ordeal could become a landmark Second Amendment case in light of the Bruen ruling handed down in the same year.

The jury found Taylor guilty of second-degree criminal possession of a loaded weapon, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, five counts of criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of five or more firearms, unlawful possession of pistol ammunition, violation of certificate of registration, prohibition on unfinished frames or receivers. Two lesser charges, including third-degree criminal possession of three or more firearms and third-degree possession of a weapon, were not voted on.

The earlier mentioned quote is what Darkeh told Taylor’s defense attorney Vinoo Varghese as the judge repeatedly interrupted Varghese’s opening statement for Taylor’s defense.

Ironically, Darkeh used to serve as “Deputy Commissioner for Regional Affairs and Federal Programs for the New York State Division of Human Rights,” according to her bio on New York City’s government website.

So someone whose job it was to uphold people’s human rights refuses to acknowledge people’s Constitutional rights. Sounds about right for New York.

Whether Darkeh wants to recognize it or not, the Second Amendment exists. She should be ashamed of herself for her dereliction of duty in foregoing the one job she has.

Whatever the case, the moral of the story here is to either stay away from New York, or get the heck out of New York while you can. Your rights aren’t recognized there.
