There’s no nice way to say this, but Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is a complete joke. He attempts to do his job correctly only when called out on his failures, and even then, he seems to feel no obligation to answer for his clear shortcomings.

There’s a reason the man has been impeached.

Mayorkas sat down to answer questions from the press, primarily on the aftermath of both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. But, there was one reporter who had a very important question concerning the recent arrest of an Afghan national who allegedly plotted to carry out a terror attack on Election Day.

“This Afghan national who was working for the CIA in Afghanistan was arrested for planning an Election Day terror plot. He was brought to the U.S. after Afghanistan collapsed, your agency says as part of the SIV [Special Immigrant Visas] program. The State Department is telling us he was not part of the SIV program, which had strenuous vetting. They say he was never issued an SIV or immigrant visa. And, DHS paroled him into the U.S. They further expect the court document to be updated to reflect this on the DOJ side.

So, Mr. Secretary, how was this man brought into the U.S.? What screening did he undergo? What did he apply for to get here?”

Basically, Mayorkas simply said — in his typically long-winded, filibustering way —that he was there to answer questions concerning hurricane relief and nothing else, at least not at the inconvenient for him time he was asked about the terror plot.

This is a little less than a week after Mayorkas said that FEMA doesn’t have the funds for hurricane relief post-Helene, in acutality, because they used so much of the money to aid illegal immigrants who seem to take a front seat to American citizens.

The reporter attempted to follow up and get Mayorkas to answer, but as Mayorkas does with any question that challenges his narratives, he brushed it aside as if it were beneath him.

Again, there’s a reason the man has been impeached.
