You would think after suffering such a deflating loss in the 2024 election that the left would at least somewhat grasp that a different direction is needed to salvage their party and ideology. However, since the election, it seems as though the left has simply doubled down on their progressive ways, indicating that they might think that they just didn’t go left enough.
Think Chicago’s last mayoral election when they elected someone further left of former Mayor Lori Lightfoot after complaining about her for years.
Over the weekend, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted to elect its new leaders. And, as usual, the used DEI as their measuring stick. The predominant requirement for voting was that “one male, one female and one person of any gender.”
Isn’t it funny how they tell us there’s more than two genders, but they can never agree on just how many genders there are?
Anyway, one of the people elected — and I’m not sure whether he counts as the “male” or as the “person of any gender — tragedy capitalist David Hogg as DNC co-chair.
Fellow co-chairs that were elected over the weekend include failed 2024 candidate for Pennsylvania Auditor Malcolm Kenyatta and National Campaign Director for the AFL-CIO Artie Blanco.
For his part in speaking to the voters before the final tally, Hogg conveyed his want to appeal to younger voters who shifted to the right in the last election.
“We had a 20-point shift to the right of our young people,” Hogg said. “We must show our young people we give a damn about them, that we support them and we invest in them.”
Among the festivities at the event was a woman signing was sounded to be a slavery-era spiritual and a majority of the candidates agreed by hand vote that “racism and misogyny played a role in Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat” in the 2024 election.
The left just never seems to learn.
