People can have any opinion they want about the TikTok social media platform, and that’s fine. Personally, I think the version they give to American kids is a hot pile of garbage full of garbage people. And I know, all these business owners love TikTok because it allegedly helps their business grow. But, what good is your business if you have stupid kids, influenced by mediocre people on the platform, that you can’t pass said business down to?

Regardless of how I feel about it, apparently more than “300 youths” from all over New Jersey were “influenced” by a TikTok video telling people to meet up at a mall in Edison over the weekend.

According to the New York Post:

Hundreds of youths descended upon a New Jersey mall Saturday night in a meet-up that reportedly was planned on TikTok and led to a massive brawl.

Seven minors were arrested in the chaotic melee that was spurred by TikTok posts calling for juveniles to meet up at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison that night, according to officials and local reports.[…]

As cops worked to get the rowdy crowd under control, one officer fractured their ankle, Edison Police Chief Tom Bryan told My Central Jersey.

None of the youths were injured and no weapons were recovered, cops said.

It was also reported that of the seven “youths” arrested, four of them were from out of town.

Look, this could’ve been a lot worse. The officer probably turned their ankle, resulting in the fracture. But, there were no injuries among attendees of the “meet up,” which is miraculous, judging by the Post’s characterization of there being a “massive brawl.”

Does anyone else remember their parents asking the following super cliched question to them when they were young: ‘If you’re friends told you to jump off a bridge, would you?’

Basically, don’t be a follower. Be a leader, even though it’s difficult for a lot of “youths” these days since they look up to “influencers” who, in reality, bring no value to society whatsoever.
