When President Donald Trump won not only the Electoral vote but the popular vote as well, part of that mandate from the American people was to end U.S. participation in foreign wars that don’t necessarily concern the country, spending billions of tax dollars protecting other borders while neglecting its own.

Part of that mandate was to end the reign of people like diplomat and Republican consultant John Bolton. The people know Bolton for being hawkish on war and involving the U.S. in countless and endless foreign conflicts.

Well, during a half-hour question and answer session with the press on Tuesday, Trump was asked about the removal of Bolton’s security clearance. The newly minted 47th president didn’t mince words about how he felt about the man.

“I thought he was a very dumb person, but I used him well because every time people saw me coming to a meeting with John Bolton standing behind me, they thought that he’d attack them cause he was a warmonger,” Trump said. “He’s the one that got us involved, along with [former Vice President Dick] Cheney and a couple of others, convinced Bush, which was a terrible decision, to blow up the Middle East. We blew up the Middle East and we left.”

But, Trump didn’t stop at classifying Bolton as “dumb.”

“We got nothing out of it, except a lot of death. Killed a lot of people,” Trump continued. “And John Bolton was one of those guys, a stupid guy.”

Tell us how you really feel, Mr. President. I guess, all you have to do is ask when you want to know. He’ll tell you. He’s not exactly a shy leader.

At least he takes questions without worrying if the people around him are going to be mad at him, like ‘some’ former presidents.
