Imagine you’re in your own country and someone from another country tell you what you can and can’t do based on the rules of their country of origin. You’d most likely tell them to kick rocks, and that’s exactly what British YouTuber Brendan Kavanagh did.

Kavanagh, whose YouTube channel has over 2.2 million subscribers, was doing what he does, playing the piano in a public setting that has pianos free to play. Of course, he was playing for his channel while hosting a livestream at London’s St. Pancras train station last Friday.

During the livestream, a group of supposed Chinese tourists were filmed in the background, and they eventually came up and confronted Kavanagh, telling him that he was not allowed to film them.

For context, these “tourists” were all holding communist Chinese flags and one woman in the group said they work for Chinese television, as reported by the Daily Mail and apparent from watching the video.

Kavanaugh assumed that because they were holding those specific flags for everyone to see, as well as allegedly working for Chinese TV, they had to have some connection to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

They were adamant that Kavanagh not film them, even though they weren’t the subjects of the video and were filmed standing in the background. A couple members of the group attempted to explain that it was their right to privacy not to be filmed, they were not allowed to be seen on foreign TV and that Kavanagh would have to get rid of the video because they happened to wander their dumbasses into the shot.

One man shouted at Kavanagh after he supposedly touched the flag of one of the women in the group, and was being touted as a racist for pointing out they were Chinese communists. It’s exactly what communists and other far-leftists do when they have no argument.

Kavanagh was having none of it.

“We’re in a free country, mate,” Kavanagh told the communist Chinese handler. “You’re not in communist China now, you know?”

Eventually, the police showed up and gave Kavanagh a hard time, even going so far as to say that Kavanagh shouldn’t use the terms “China” or “Chinese communists” as if could be construed as racist.

So, according to the British police — at least this one in particular — it’s possibly racist to call people what they are.

Also, the female officer kept trying to have a conversation with Kavanagh with his camera off, even though she had no problem with her own body-camera being left on. Why? Probably because Kavanagh is 100 percent in the right in this situation.

“Listen, can I just have a conversation with you without your friend videoing?” the officer asked Kavanagh.

“No,” Kavanagh bravely responded, “because the camera never lies.”

The situation dissipated, but according to a subsequent video by Kavanagh, multiple parties are attempting to take the video down off of YouTube, which would be stupid at this point considering the nearly 4.5 million views the video has as of this writing.

The kind of behavior may fly in China where authoritarianism is the rule of the land — which it’s also the rule to a degree in the U.K. — but in a public setting you don’t necessarily have the right to privacy. If you don’t want to be filmed, move on. Don’t insert yourself into the video.

As Kavanagh said on Monday on TalkTV, “This shouty guy has become a YouTube star” because he attempted to ply his fascism on others.
