With the president’s approval rating continuing to trend downward, the Biden administration is desperate to shift the narrative surrounding the president. And it appears the White House is turning to Generation Z to do so.

Rather than relying on authentic grassroots support, though, Biden’s team is insisting on doing things from the top-down. Following a White House call with abortion supporters like actress Debra Messing, Biden aides then reportedly distributed a list of White House-approved talking points and Biden clips to be shared on TikTok.

Let the cringing commence.

As Breitbart noted, Biden has something of a storied history with TikTokers.

In April, TikTok gender-bender and Democratic Party ally Benny Drama famously paid the White House a visit to promote the COVID-19 vaccine and engage in a day of wacky hijinks. The publicity stunt was the subject of much mockery.

The month prior, Biden’s press team held a call with 30 TikTokers regarding the war in Ukraine and the spread of disinformation.

It turns out marketing a confused 79-year-old man to teenagers might be harder than expected.

Recent polling revealed that only a third of people under the age of 30 approve of the president—an especially notable statistic given that young voters are usually among the Democratic Party’s biggest supporters.

Septuagenarian Biden has gathered a number of Gen Z favorites in an effort to curry favor with the young’uns. Pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish, as well as South Korean boy band BTS, have joined Biden at the White House to little avail.

Given the failure of these efforts, it’s a fairly safe assumption that Biden’s recent attempt to astroturf TikTok will not save his approval rating.
