Nothing says, “trustworthy" or “smart expenditures” better than an already left-biased mega-corporation hiring a multiply-cited liar to cover what might be hotly debated election results. And that’s precisely what the deep-thinkers at Amazon Prime just did, choosing to pay disgraced adult-child Brian Williams to cover the election results for the streaming system.
That’s Brian Williams, who, over his ignominious career as a “news man,” has lied so many times -- even to the point of claiming he survived terrifying military fire in Iraq – he became a national laughing-stock and another example of why discerning news consumers don’t bother checking the dinosaur media except as a means to see what fantastical narratives the big-government boosters are spouting each day.
Of course, being NBC, the network didn’t outright FIRE Williams after his claims to have been places where he wasn’t. They didn’t fire Williams after he claimed to have done things he didn’t do. They MOVED him, to MSNBC, to continue spouting drivel.
How is it possible that big-wigs at news nets can’t see that there are plenty more people whom they could hire, people who actually CAN report the news without manufacturing jumbo whoppers to continue embarrassing the net and fellow reporters?
That’s a question given new life, with this latest Amazon move.
The Daily Caller’s Robert Schmad reports:
“Amazon’s Prime Video has reportedly selected veteran TV anchor Brian Williams, who was suspended from NBC in 2015 for making false statements, to lead its coverage of election night on Nov. 5.”
Given the arguments and questions revolving around the last Presidential election, one might think that Amazon would want to avoid hiring a recognized liar to handle such a touchy subject.
As reminder, Robert Schmad notes:
“Williams’ deal with Amazon represents his first time back at an anchor desk since leaving NBC in 2021, according to Puck News. The returning news anchor’s suspension from NBC followed Williams making a false claim in 2015 that a military helicopter he was traveling in during his coverage of the war in Iraq was forced to land after being hit by a rocket, a story the pilots of the helicopter later said was false, according to PBS News.”
Of course, it’s worth mentioning that the US Congress never passed a constitutional Declaration of War to allow for the infamous invasion of Iraq, so Mr. Schmad, himself, might want to revise that statement, but we can understand his meaning. Williams claimed he was in a helicopter that “enemy rocket fire” forced to land, in a place that US troops were not constitutionally sanctioned to be.
Lots of lies to remember.
And Schmad recalls more of Williams’ fiction.
“Williams’ helicopter story isn’t the only false statement he has made about his coverage of the armed forces. He said during a 2011 broadcast that he had ‘the great honor of flying into Baghdad with [SEAL Team 6] at the start of the war.’
A Special Operations Command spokesman, however, told the Huffington Post that journalists are not embedded in counter-terrorism in the way described by Williams, with a SEAL officer also telling CNN that the event the anchor described could not have happened.”
Dang. Foiled again.
“Williams also claimed to have been at the Berlin Wall the day it fell, a claim a source at NBC News later said was false, according to CNN.”
Of course, it’s not as if CNN is a good alternative for viewers to find trustworthy reporting, but when it came to that Williams’ lie, they did a better job than NBC, that’s for sure.
So, after NBC simply moved the human hack-baggage of Williams to MSNBC, Amazon is really eager to show audiences its corporate interest in handling the election with utter fairness and reliability, and what better thing to do than hire…
Brian Williams.
Schmad offers us a reminder of just how fair and balanced Williams likes to be:
“Signing off NBC for the last time in 2021, Williams used his final monologue to say that supporters of former President Donald Trump have spread ‘the darkness on the edge of town’ to ‘the main roads and highways and neighborhoods, the local bar, the bowling alley, the school board and the grocery store,’ The Washington Times reported.”
At least Brian can compose some colorful propaganda. He’s got a knack for fiction and splashes of grandiosity.

Neither of which are valuable commodities for Amazon, as its corporate heads seek to cover the contentious election.
Of course, they already have shown their own feverish love of censoring conservatives in their review sections, censoring conservative works, pushing the “anthropogenic climate apocalypse” canard, and engaging in rewrites of classic work by authors who don’t fit their woke agenda, so why should anyone be surprised?
Regardless of whether Williams keeps his propensity for vulgar nonsense in check, this new Amazon move already is an insult that fits its larger pattern.
Of all the people Amazon could have paid to do this work on election night, they have chosen a man who already has been cited for lying – many times.
When people repeatedly show such profound disrespect for others, what might those others do?
Perhaps, just perhaps, those others might avoid giving the transgressors their valuable consumer interest.
