House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband was arrested over Memorial Day weekend for driving while intoxicated after he reportedly blew a stop sign and crashed his Porsche into a Jeep.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested just before 10:30 p.m. and booked before being released on a $5,000 bail around 7:30 the next morning. Luckily, neither he nor the driver of the Jeep were hurt in the crash. The incident report says Pelosi was determined to have a blood alcohol level of greater than the legal 0.08 percent at the time.

Of course, the public was very interested to see what his high-profile wife had to say about the incident, considering her well-touted concern for public safety and adherence with "the law," and all. On Monday night, about 48 hours after the incident, Nancy Pelosi's office finally offered her public statement on the matter - which, as it turns out, wasn't much of a statement at all.

“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Drew Hammill, Pelosi's spokesperson, said in a statement.

Looks like her husband's drunk driving and risk of killing innocent people isn't worthy of a comment.
