This week, we talked about how Big Tech censored Jordan Peterson and David Rubin for using the given name of a “transgender” person.

Jordan Peterson is an author, psychologist and podcaster who is unafraid to speak his mind. He is an independent thinker who often challenges leftist thought. So of course, the left wants to silence him.

On June 22, Peterson tweeted “Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician,” according to screenshots tweeted by his daughter

Page claims to have transitioned from an actress - to an actor and now goes by “Elliot” Page. Users speculated that Twitter suspended Peterson over his use of “Ellen” instead of “Elliot.”

Twitter reportedly deemed Peterson’s post “hateful conduct” and suspended his account. Peterson said in an interview with The Daily Wire that the platform said he must delete the tweet to regain access. The notice also claimed that, “By clicking Delete, you acknowledge that your Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.” Peterson has not deleted the tweet and indicated he “would rather die than do that” and thus remains suspended.

Author and podcast host Dave Rubin agreed with Peterson, saying that he didn’t do anything wrong. Rubin jumped in to defend him by tweeting: “The insanity continues at Twitter. @jordanbpeterson has been suspended for this tweet about Ellen Page. He just told me he will 'never' delete the tweet. Paging @elonmusk…” according to screenshots shared by journalist Jack Posobiec.

Why are we relying on screenshots? Twitter reportedly censored Rubin as well and told MRC’s CensorTrack team that the Peterson tweet that Rubin referenced, “violated the Twitter Rules on hateful conduct,” but did not explain how the tweet violated such rules.

It appears that when online speech contradicts leftist wokeism, free speech is no longer protected in the world of Big Tech.
