According to a new poll, nearly 40 percent of Floridians believe Ted Cruz is or could be the Zodiac killer.

The Hill reports Public Policy Polling, a left-leaning polling group known for asking ridiculous questions at the end of its otherwise serious surveys, asked a sampling of Florida residents whether they thought Ted Cruz was the unknown man behind the cryptic murders of seven California people in the late ‘60s and ‘70s.

From the article:

Ten percent of Floridians said they believe Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz the Zodiac Killer when asked in a Public Policy Polling survey released on Thursday.

An additional 28 percent responded they were unsure, while 62 percent confidently asserted the Texas senator is not the unidentified northern California serial killer who sent taunting encrypted letters to the press in the 1960s and '70s.

The full poll, which was released on Thursday, states:

Finally we find that 38% of Florida voters think it's possible that Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer. 10% say he for sure is, and another 28% say that they are just not sure. Cruz is exonerated from being a toddler serial killer by 62% of the Sunshine State populace.

Cruz, who was born in December of 1970, would have been -2 years old at the time of the first murder, which occurred in 1968.

It’s unclear whether or not PPP asked Floridians if the list of Zodiac suspects includes Bernie Sanders, who was born in 1941.
