‘Powerpuff Girls’ Promo Shows Girls Beating up Villain Who Wants Men to be Manly

The adorable “Powerpuff Girls” you knew and loved growing up have now turned into man-hating feminists.

The preview for Cartoon Network’s series reboot features a villain, Manboy, who laments over the emasculation of men in modern society.

The bearded Manboy states, “Townsville needs to get back to its manly roots. And if that means destroying this hippie carnival, then so be it!”

He then asks a crowd, “Unless there’s somebody here man enough to stop me?”

When Buttercup, the tomboy of the group, suggests that she can beat Manboy up, the hyper-masculine villain patronizingly asks, “Why don’t you go play with your dollies, princess?”

The word “princess” sends Buttercup into a frenzy as she beats up Manboy for daring to call her “princess.”

Although the “Powerpuff Girls” getting upset over being seen as “just girls” is nothing new, the villain of the episode is supposed to be perceived as evil for wanting men to be manly.

According to the description for the video, “Manboy, born of brawn and musk, has vowed to turn the city of Townsville into the city of Mansville, a place where men are men and boys are men, but not if The Powerpuff Girls have anything to do with it.”
