The New York Times may have just made a fatal error in protecting the left’s pro-abortion narrative. In a recent piece about the federal government's $3.5 trillion budget proposal, the paper admitted that human life begins at “conception.”

Yeah, the far lefties over at America’s biggest rag were too busy salivating over expanding the government with a massive spending bill that they momentarily forgot to dehumanize unborn children. You can’t make this stuff up.

The piece in question, titled “From Cradle to the Grave, Democrats Move to Expand Social Safety Net,” was published on September 7, however it seems as though the editors missed an serious ideological error in the piece’s lead. The opening sentence stated, “the $3.5 trillion that lawmakers began drafting would touch virtually every American, at every point in life from conception to old age.”

Wait, what?!

Just on the face of it, that sentence is shocking -- the feds are looking to throw down another presumably pork-filled spending package designed to serve leftist’s big government dreams. They’re acting like we’re not already nearly $30 trillion in debt. But if you’re paying close attention you can see that NYT just admitted that an American is someone who exists at the moment of “conception.”

Whoa, New York Times, who knew you were so pro-life? Sounds like the paper had a very real come to Jesus moment.

The statement is practically philosophical. “Conception to old age” is a set of “every point” in the life of “every American.” Forget for a second about the fact that Big Government wants to micromanage us at every point of our existence. The fact that the New York Times wrote that Americans exist at the point of “conception” is incredible. Remember that Americans have the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

On the other hand, this admission  indirectly acknowledges The Times has been promoting the killing of innocent Americans for decades. Well at least they’ve converted, right?

Well, probably not. In all seriousness we are chalking this admission up to being a flub in pursuit of a rhetorical point, that the welfare system will reach into every nook and cranny and time-space of our lives. It’s just funny that in their pursuit of it, they admit the obvious, especially at a time when they should be denying the rights of unborn children the most to combat Texas’ recent “heartbeat bill.” That bill became law on September 2, much to the chagrin of leftist’s worldwide.

The editors will probably scrub NYT’s lead sooner than later. Or they can just come clean, admit the unborn baby is an American protected by the constitution, and the country can become a much better place!
