Nothing says “but we just want to love and protect the children” quite like threatening violence against an event for…well, children.

Then again, no one has ever accused leftists of being ideologically consistent, as such a thing usually requires principles.

Publisher Brave Books was forced to cancel a book reading for kids scheduled for Sunday night in Manhattan after getting threats from hateful progressives that left them too concerned about their littlest attendees’ safety to go through with the event.

Featuring headliner Chaya Raichik, the woman behind LibsofTikTok who exposes grooming at so-called “pride” events and in public schools across the country, the event was set up as a counter to a taxpayer-funded drag queen story hour promoted by New York Attorney General Leticia James taking place just down the street, where men dressed in women’s clothing ad fake breasts were teaching children about crossdressing and gender-bending.

Which is apparently totally OK - but reading a children’s book about not keeping secrets from your own parents is not.

During the scheduled book reading, Raichik was to read her new children’s book "No More Secrets: The Candy Cavern,” which tells kids that they should never trust someone else more than their own parents who love them. The problem? Groomers don’t like it when someone comes between them and their ability to brainwash other people’s children with porn and perversion. And they sure don't like it when you take the spotlight away from their "diversity" circus starring, among other abominations, men in thongs gyrating for babies.

So they get nasty...er.

Brave Books said they had to pull the plug on the Sunday event after getting threats of “inappropriate and unsafe behavior" from protesters, causing them to worry that someone - including young kids - could get hurt.

"We have received threats of potentially inappropriate and unsafe behavior at the NYC story hour with Chaya Raichik on Sunday and have advised Chaya we cancel the event. With children being involved, we don’t want to take any chances.”

The publisher vowed to “find a way to combat this moving forward,” saying they’d be announcing something new soon.

Brave Books also recently published a children’s book by Christian actor and author Kirk Cameron entitled “As You Grow,” which teaches kids about the Biblical Fruits of the Spirit. The publisher said their request to schedule free book readings for children has already been rejected or outright ignored by at least 50 public libraries across the country, all of which had hosted drag queen story hours featuring crossdressing men “performing” for children.
