In a random act of Christmas kindness, a New Jersey man donated more than $10,000 to his hometown Toys 'R' Us to "bring some happiness to people" in his community.

A man who goes by the name Charlie K. went to the Cherry Hill, N.J., Toys ‘R’ Us on Black Friday to shop for his son and ended up paying for 62 of the store’s layaway orders, reports CBS3

The orders totaled a whopping $10,780.

He said that he just wanted to give back to the community “that brought so much happiness” to him and his family.

"Just trying to bring some happiness to people. That's really it,” Charlie said. “Help bring back to the community that brought so much happiness to me and my family.”

Families walked into the store that day expecting to pay full price for the toys they set aside for their kids.

"They come over and tell me someone actually paid the layaway. Definitely an early Christmas and I'm so thankful. I want to say thank you to the gentleman that came in and donated it's like the best feeling, thank you," said one mother.

"I want to say thank you very much and I appreciate it and thank God for you," said a grandmother.

Charlie K. also paid for $2,000 worth of toys to donate to Toys for Tots. He had all the shoppers at the store help him pick out which toys to donate.
