Really? 'Fat Sex Therapist' Claims Fitness Instructors are 'Nazis,' Diet Culture is 'Assault'

There are some things that are beyond mockery, but this isn’t one of those things. I’ve said it before, but certain people make up certain assertions in order to make themselves feel better in the form of being portrayed as victims. They do this because it’s easier to come up with an excuse than face reality.

“Fat sex therapist” Sonalee Rashatwar presents a perfect example of such a “victim.”

Rashatwar recently gave a speech - which you can view here, if you dare - at St. Olaf College in Minnesota and actually said that “white supremacy” is the cause for pretty much everything, but specifically that the pressure to not be fat is “Nazi science.”

“Nazis really love this idea of an idealized body, and so it makes a lot of sense to me that a fitness instructor,” Rashatwar said, as reported by Campus Reform, “might also think about an idealized body in this thin white supremacist way.”

What about Billy Blanks, the black man who created the Tae Bo exercise routine? Is he a Nazi? How about Israeli fitness instructor from the 1980s Gilad Janklowicz? Is he a Nazi? Or maybe “Hip-Hop Abs” creator Shaun T? Is he a Nazi?

As a person who is overweight himself, I can tell you that Rashatwar is full of crap and is just making excuses because she doesn’t have the willpower to do something about her morbid obesity.

I’ve personally lost 25 pounds in the last few months, not because I wished it. No, it happened through a strict diet regimen that works for me. If you want something to happen, you have to make it happen instead of making excuses for your own shortcomings. It's called being an adult.

Rashatwar spun a lot of word salad, that she was probably too offended to eat, but I have to include this one other nugget of wisdom that came from this health guru.

“I experience diet culture as a form of assault because it impacts the way that I experience my body,” Rashatwar said.

By that lack of logic, couldn’t you also say that overeating and stuffing your face full of crap impacts the way you experience your body? It’s a choice. No one is forcing you to eat any particular thing, at least in the U.S. You can either eat a well-trimmed steak or you can eat a pizza. It’s your choice. You can either eat a well-balanced meal or you can stuff your face full of doughnuts. It’s your choice.

The character of “Ron Swanson” from “Parks & Recreation,” someone who doesn't actually exist, gets it way more than Rashatwar could ever comprehend.

“The whole point of this country is if you want to eat garbage balloon up to 600 and die of a heart attack at 43, you can!” Swanson said. “To me, that’s beautiful.”

The converse is also true, but you get the point. In the U.S., you can eat what you want or be as healthy as you want. At the end of the day, it’s still your choice.
